AWS Support Plans
AWS Tutorial: AWS Support Plans
Welcome to the AWS Support Plans lesson. When your architecture is perfectly configured, but something is still failing on AWS's end, you need to call in the experts.
Why Learn About Support Plans?
AWS doesn't provide free phone support for technical issues. If you are running a multi-million dollar business on AWS, you must purchase the appropriate support plan to ensure you have 24/7 access to cloud engineers.
Tutorial Overview
In this tutorial, you will learn the four tiers of AWS Support:
- Basic
- Developer
- Business
- Enterprise
The Four Support Plans
- Basic Support: Free for all AWS customers. Includes billing support, basic Trusted Advisor checks, and access to documentation. No technical support.
- Developer Support: Paid plan. Best for testing and early development. Provides business hours email access to Cloud Support Associates. Response time is usually 12-24 hours.
- Business Support: Paid plan. Minimum requirement for production workloads. Provides 24/7 phone, email, and chat access to Cloud Support Engineers. If your production system goes down, they guarantee a 1-hour response time.
- Enterprise Support: Very expensive paid plan for massive companies. Provides a dedicated Technical Account Manager (TAM) who acts as your personal AWS concierge, helping you plan architectures and handle billing directly. Guarantees a 15-minute response time for business-critical system down events.
