The 6 Perspectives of AWS CAF

Why Learn AWS CAF?

AWS provides the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) to help organizations successfully manage their digital transformation. It is heavily tested on the AWS Cloud Practitioner exam.

Tutorial Overview

In this tutorial, you will learn the 6 Perspectives of the AWS CAF.

The 6 Perspectives of CAF

The framework is broken into six perspectives. The first three focus on Business capabilities, while the last three focus on Technical capabilities.

  1. Business: Ensures that IT aligns with business needs and that IT investments link to key business results.
  2. People: Focuses on training staff, updating organizational structures, and managing the cultural change of moving to the cloud.
  3. Governance: Focuses on maximizing business value and minimizing risks (budgeting, compliance).
  4. Platform: Focuses on the actual architecture, designing the network, compute, and storage solutions.
  5. Security: Ensures the cloud environment meets security and compliance requirements.
  6. Operations: Helps you enable, run, use, operate, and recover IT workloads to the level agreed upon with your business stakeholders.
