Why Learn Generative AI?
Generative AI (like ChatGPT) has fundamentally shifted the tech industry. Understanding what Foundation Models (FMs) and Large Language Models (LLMs) are is a baseline requirement for modern cloud computing.

In this tutorial, you will learn:

- The definition of Foundation Models (FMs).
What is Generative AI?
Generative AI is a type of machine learning that can create new content and ideas, including conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. Instead of simply analyzing data, it generates net-new output based on the massive datasets it was trained on.
Foundation Models (FMs) & LLMs
Generative AI is powered by Foundation Models (FMs). These are ultra-large machine learning models trained on a vast spectrum of generalized data (basically reading the entire internet). Because they are so large, they can be adapted to perform a wide variety of tasks.
A Large Language Model (LLM) is simply a Foundation Model that is specifically trained to understand, generate, and interact with human text.
